Dr. Gilli Beskin is an Israeli educator who has been coaching in the field of education as well as researching the subject for the last 12 years. Her doctorate was also dedicated to "Coaching educational teams towards higher levels of performance".
Dr. Beskin has worked in dozens of schools with principals, mangers and teams of teachers. She teaches the subject in teacher's college as well.

I liked the book and appreciated the way it was edited, making it easy and convenient to use.I have seen the very impressive results of coaching subordinates where it was done along the lines Dr. Beskin laid out. Right from the momenti I got to read the preview, before i bought it, I found the book interesting and attractive.The format is easy to follow with colorful icons leading you through the different activities and tools suggested some theory, without going into deep and unnecessary detail.
When I started to use the book,although it is stressed everything is only a suggestion. i found the framework very demanding (a lot of work) as somewhat rigid. i understand some people like this exact plan. For me it was difficult. Still i can see much use and a lot of good ideas to work with both as a manager and also in my personal life.
I am the owner of a tourist business in Spain and Gilli, the writer of this book, took part in one of my challenging excursions and we have stayed in touch since. I was therefore happy to have a glimpse of her new books although I am not connected to the education field. However, I was surprised to find that the book "the educator as coach" is very useful for me as well. I have been thinking of the right way to help my deputy in a pleasant and professional way to improve certain aspects of his work. The coaching framework suggested here is most suitable. In the mean time I am enjoying the different tools and activities which are very well described and explained so that they are easy to follow.. I am planning on taking the challenge and working with some of my team in the near future
